Plural Formation Rules

Rule 1: For regular nouns, add -s or -es. (e.g., book → books, box → boxes)

Rule 2: For nouns ending in -f or -fe, change to -ves. (e.g., wolf → wolves)

Rule 3: For words ending in -o, some take -es. (e.g., potato → potatoes)

Rule 4: Irregular nouns completely change spelling. (e.g., child → children, foot → feet)

Rule 5: For Latin/Greek origin nouns, use their plural forms. (e.g., phenomenon → phenomena)
